REPAIR CAFÉ – Saturday 23rd May 2026

Community Repair Café IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ILM HIGHLAND
Exciting plans are underway to launch a new Community Repair Café at the Seaboard Centre in 2026, in partnership with ILM Highland — and we are looking local people to get involved.

The initiative aims to bring the community together to repair, reuse and learn new skills, helping to reduce waste while fostering a spirit of collaboration. To make the project a success, volunteers with practical skills are being sought to lend a hand and share their knowledge with others.

Thanks to the generous support of ILM in Alness, all equipment will be provided — meaning volunteers simply need to bring their skills, enthusiasm, and willingness to help.

The first the Repair Café will begin on Saturday 23 May, between 9.30am-12.30pm with sessions taking place in the morning. Refreshments will be available, creating a welcoming and social atmosphere for both volunteers and visitors.

Organisers are particularly keen to hear from people with skills in:

  • Woodwork
  • Electrical repairs
  • Sewing
  • IT and mobile phone basics
  • Jewellery, clocks and glasses repairs
  • Mechanical fixes

However, you don’t need to be an expert to take part — anyone willing to contribute and be part of a positive, community-led project is encouraged to get involved.

The Repair Café is expected to become a valuable local resource, offering practical support while encouraging sustainability and connection within the community.Anyone interested in volunteering or finding out more is invited to get in touch by sending a message or contacting the Seaboard Centre directly on info@seaboardcentre.com or call us on 01862 832888.
